So it seems the jokes on me...
Introducing our little man, my precious little April Fools Day trickster! I knew ever since his conception that his arrival would be a very exciting time for our little family, when we found out that our little belly baby would be a boy the anticipation and excitement grew... our 3 little girls would have a BROTHER!
What I didn't anticipate was the stir his arrival would cause!
At 5 minutes to 12 on Easter night my waters broke... nothing dramatic just a small trickle, at first Daddy looked at me with eyes that said nice try but I reassured him that it was only 11:55pm and April Fools Day hadn't started... my waters HAD actually ruptured and our little boy would most likely be born by morning... there was know way of knowing of the excitement to come. As with all my labours I intended to labour for as long as I could at home before going up to the hospital and so for the next 3 hours I patiently timed contractions, double checked my hospital bags and wrote a letter to my little boy.
Finally my contractions reached a stage where it was time to go to the hospital, Daddy packed my hospital bags into the car and had it running so we could leave as soon as my sister arrived to watch our girls... there was one small problem, in the few minutes it took for Daddy to ready the car I realised that our little man was coming READY OR NOT! By this stage our eldest had woken and she called out to Daddy to come inside... I told him that we weren't going to make it to the hospital because his son was coming NOW! Daddy quickly called an Ambulance...
The look on his face said it all... Are you serious?
A calm Triple 0 operator talked Daddy through the birth step by step and between him, my mum, my little sister and myself we managed to bring our special little man into the world... with the added bonus of minimal psychological scarring to the other children! ;)
Our little guy arrival caused quite a stir... our local paper interviewed us. Their article was featured in other papers scattered through Australia and was also posted on a few Facebook pages too! The birth had gone viral... well not really 'viral' but it had created a buzz and he was (in his own right) a mini celebrity. Celebrity or not we are so please to have this little man in our lives. He is such a good baby and such a blessing. I couldn't imagine our lives without him.
