Featured Mumma - Elin Tidbeck

Today I would like to introduce you to Elin Tidbeck from
My Own Art

Elin is a mummy to two little boys and the super creative mind behind her successful home based business creating gorgeous customised portraits from your favourite photographs. Her art portraits have a very unique style and because they feature your own little masterpieces... your children, you know that they will make you smile each and every time you look at them!

Swedish born and raised Elin came to live in Australia after she met her American/New Zealand husband and started a family. Elin found that after her 2 little boys were born her priorities changed and  her focus moved from her work and studies as a landscape architect to her little family and the flexibility of being able to spend more time with her children. Just last year Elin turned her hobby into a business and website and so 'My Own Art' was born!

Elin believes that we take more photo's today then ever before but very few actually feature in our homes... they are stored in hard drives and camera cards and although we miss actually seeing our photo's in print we very rarely make time to go to the store and develop our pictures.

When it comes to Art Elin says:
With that in mind Elin creates gorgeous prints from her customers digital photo's making pieces of art from memories captured in a second. When Elin started hanging up the altered photographs of her own children on her walls they helped create a cosy atmosphere that reminded her of some special and significant events from her life, she hopes that she can do the same for her customers!

Elin constantly adds new styles to her website as she interacts with her customers and new ideas are born. Nothing makes her happier than being able to create something her customers can treasure, hearing how much each piece means to it's family is her ultimate reward!

For the longest time I have been looking for that perfect piece of art to display on our wall as a memorial piece for the girls daddy. After seeing the gorgeous grunge water colour print on the My Own Art website I KNEW it was perfect! Elin generously offered to do a custom portrait of the girls daddy and working with Elin to create this special work of art has been wonderful, not only is Elin understanding and flexible she is also very committed to making sure you are happy with the end result of your masterpiece... Which I am!! I just love the heirloom piece Elin created for us which I had printed on canvas and hung on our wall for the girls to look at every single day!
