I just HAD to show you Miss E's new bedroom, I am very proud of myself for FINALLY being able to beautify it. I have wanted to do it for so very very long!! Out went her YUKKY brown timber bed HOORAY and in came her sleek new white divian bed and her white cube unit bookshelf! It was definatly a ..... fun ..... experiance putting the furniture together! It was by no means the first time I have had assembly duty, I have done that plenty of times before. It was the multitasking that proved a little harder this time around. Little Miss R decided to climb all over me while I assembled the bed, She also demanded a feed half way through. Then she decided she too wanted to help assemble the bed, Screwdriver in hand she sat beside me ever so gently scratching the paint with Daddy's tools! Yep..... FUN!
I decided to wait until Miss R had gone to bed before I tackled the bookshelf. It was nowhere near as stable as the bed and I couldn't bare the thought of it falling on her during construction! The instructions for the shelf was beyond comprehendable! But somehow I managed to assemble it. All I could read was that they specified construction as a 2 man job...... 1 Mum with a drive to succeed will have to do! I think I had to pull it apart twice before I got the shelves the right way around (something they didn't specify in the manual) As I was nearing the end of it's construction E looked at me with tears welling in her eyes and said 'Mummy, I'm really proud of you' which made my day and made me feel my hard work was definitely noticed. The hardest part of the whole construction was standing the cube unit from it's side to the right way up. Miss E piped up with 'Mum I really think you should wait until Poppy comes over tomorrow to help you' I think she may have been slightly worried? I said it would be fine and did the 'I told you so' dance once I had it on it's feet. The whole time however Miss S was fast asleep on the new bed. E later let me know that when I stood the bookcase up she asked Daddy to help me and to make sure I didn't squash her sister... a job only a guardian angel could do!
Out with the old
And in with the new!
At the moment her walls are still covered with Bratz posters and a few of her arty creations, I am hoping to replace the posters with more of her own original pieces, I have also found a gorgeous print called LOVE YOURSELF on Etsy by a seller called danitashop. I think it would be perfect in Ellie's room.
Edit: A big Thank~u goes out to my good friend Colleen who generously bought Ellie the LOVE YOURSELF print as a 'room warming' present.
I just ADORE it, I have a picture of myself from when I was little in my mum's favourite jumper it's bright red and says RESPECT YOURSELF and Danita's print reminds me of it so very much! I will have to dig through my photos and see if I can find it too share. To get your own copy of this print follow this link to Danita's Etsy store:
